FAQ

What materials are included in the Zine Making session?

Your session fee provides a comprehensive set of materials for you to design and create your own zine! This includes:

A5 paper (and other paper stock options) for the pages.

A selection of magazines, newspapers, and book pages for collaging.

Writing instruments (pens, markers, colored pencils).

Essential tools like scissors and glue sticks

What exactly is a zine?

A zine is a small, self-published magazine or booklet, often focused on a specific, passionate subject. They are typically handmade through various methods like collage, drawing, writing, or photocopying, offering a unique medium for personal expression and storytelling.

Do I need to be a designer or artist to make a zine?

Absolutely not! Zine making thrives on raw creativity and passion, not professional design skills. It's a fun, low-pressure way to express yourself, whether through writing, drawing stick figures, or just cutting and pasting.

Can I bring my own photos, clippings, or journals to use in my zine?

Yes, please do! We encourage you to bring any personal photos, drawings, notes, or specific materials you wish to include to make your zine truly personal.

How long is the zine making session?

Our standard Zine Making sessions are self-guided and limited to one hour. If you feel you may need more time for your project, please inquire about extending your session upon booking.

Will there be a facilitator to teach me how to make a zine?

Our regular Zine Making sessions are self-guided. However, if you would like an introduction to the process, folding techniques, and content ideas, a facilitator can be added to your booking for an additional fee of $25 per person.

Can I take my finished zine home?

Yes, of course! Your finished zine is a personal publication and is yours to take home and share.
