Do you have gently used books sitting on your shelves, waiting for a new reader? Donate them to The Honey and help us grow our community library! As a token of our appreciation, we'll give you a discount to enjoy our café while your books find new homes.

Books We Accept

Here are brief descriptions for each of the book acceptance criteria:

Condition

The book should show minimal wear and tear. This means no heavy creases, torn pages, significant fading, or major damage that would affect its readability or appearance.

Language

We are primarily looking for books written in English to be added to our collection.

Fiction

Novels, classics, thrillers, romance, fantasy and more.

Non-fiction

Biographies, history, self-help, cookbooks and more.

Quantity

Your donation must be a bundle of at least five books and no more than twenty books per submission.

Books We Do Not Accept

To ensure every book donated is ready for its next reader, please do not include books with the following conditions or types:

Damaged Condition

We cannot accept books that have missing pages, covers, or spines coming apart. Any book that is wet, damp, mouldy, or warped due to exposure to water.

Heavily Marked

Books with extensive doodles, drawings, or heavy annotations/highlighting that obstruct the text or make it difficult to read.

Specific Types

Religious Books: Texts focused purely on religious doctrine or worship.

Textbooks: Academic, university, or technical textbooks used for educational curricula.

Newspapers: Daily or weekly news publications.

Magazines: Periodical publications with articles and images

FAQ

How will I know if my books are accepted?

You will receive an email from our team within 3 business days of your submission confirming the approval status of your donation.

Can I drop off the books without submitting the form first?

No. To ensure we have space and can process the donation correctly, all donations must first be submitted and approved via the online form before being physically delivered.

If I donate 30 books, will I get two vouchers?

No. The maximum number of books per single submission is 20, and you will receive one 10% e-voucher per approved submission. Please only submit books in batches of 5 to 20.

Where do I drop off the books?

Once your donation is approved, please deliver the books to our bookstore located at Jalan Kiarong, Kpg Kiulap.

How do I claim my 10% off e-voucher?

Your e-voucher will be emailed to you after your approved books have been successfully delivered to the bookstore.

How long is the e-voucher valid?

The e-voucher is valid for 3 months from the date it is issued to you.

Can I ask The Honey to pick up the books from me?

We don't provide a free pickup service. However, we can help you arrange for a trusted dispatcher to collect the books at your expense. Please mention this in your submission if you require this service.

What happens to the books I donate?

Your donated books will become part of The Honey Bookstore inventory and may be read, sold, or shared with others, giving them a meaningful second life!
